4 more days!

Well, in four more days I'll know if I still can run a 50k or not! Sort of scary to think that my training has been in the dumps and I have a 50 miler in about 2 1/2 weeks.

Yesterday got in a fast 3.1 miles in between the rain.

Schedule?? What Schedule??

So, I had planned about 6 miles tonight, but the in-laws were in town and a board of directors meeting for my chorus. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to get a few miles in. We'll see how it goes.

Running back on schedule?

Hopefully my running schedule will be back to normal this week. It's been several weeks (ok, more like months) since I've been able to put in a regular running week in.
I went out Sunday and did an easy 3 miles around Lake Merritt. My right knee was not too happy, but I bought some new shoes and socks. And I promised myself that I would do more stretching and roller exercises.
I took Monday off and today it is rainy. I guess it'll be 3 or 6 miles in the rain tonight...depending on the knee.

Oh...it's only 3 months and 3 days until the beginning of Run Across Iowa! Holy Crap! And only 11 days away until my first race/ultra of 2007!

Happy Trails!

23 miles :)

Yay! I did 23 miles today. I did the first ~7.5 miles with the EastBay Frontrunners and then the rest by myself. Up and down and around the Berkeley/Emeryville Marinas. Stop twice to get something to eat. Took about 4 hours 15 minutes. Not too bad. I really only had planned to do 20, but then 26 sounded like a good number. My right knee started to give me some pain so I stopped at 23. Plus my car was right there, so that was another good excuse.
I'm DEAD TIRED, but feel very confident that I'll be able to do the 50k on the 31st. Johan wants me to go skiing next weekend, but I just can't risk straining anything the week before! I'll go up to Tahoe and maybe do a little trail running.

Happy Trails!

Ruth Anderson 50k

I just registered for the Ruth Anderson 50k (50M and 100k options). This is only two weeks before the American River 50M, but the last time I did a 50 miler, I did a 50k two weeks before so I'm not too concerned about that. I'm more concerned with my confidence level right now. That's why I signed up for the 50k. It's a loop around Lake Merced in San Francisco. I'll go until I can't go no more!
My poison oak is almost gone!! My ankles look bad still, but the blisters are going away and the dead skin is starting to fall off. I just hope I got it all wash off my clothes & stuff.
Tomorrow I hope to get in 20 miles. I did 16 miles last weekend and felt really good.
