American River 50 Mile
Finish: 11:16:xx.
Goal: 10:59:59
Was not the best day I've had in my life, but even after a few days of rest, I've already signed up for the Quicksilver 50 Miler on May 12th. I guess I didn't have that bad of a time!
More details to come (though I still owe some storytelling on RA 50k!) To quickly summarize, the week leading up to the race I spent most evenings after work packing and moving to our new place and managed to get a cold. The weather the day before was a beautiful 70 degree sunny day...the day of RAIN, COLD, WIND. And I found out that I didn't know how to run on muddy trails!
I have a few concerts coming up and that seems to be taking most of my time right now. I'm also battling another case of poison oak! Mostly just on my right leg and arm. Not as bad as last time, and I'm working on getting rid of it as fast as I can!
The next few weeks will be training on hills to get those muscles use to going up steep hills again!
:)

Brad, congrats on the finish especially since you had a cold at the start. It shows fortitude to run through that weather when not feeling well. Good luck on your upcoming race. Another 50-miler so soon is very bold!
During the run I told myself that I would only do 50k's from now on. Last night around midnight, I pushed the register button and before I knew it, I was signed up for another 50 Miler!
Brad,
Great job at AR40! I want to hear more. I'll see you at Quicksilver - though, sanely, I only signed up for the 50K.
Mimi
