Bought Airline tickets!

This morning I bought my airline tickets for my Run Across Iowa 2007. Talking about something is easy to do...taking action to make it come true, much more difficult!

Planning a 20+ mile run for this weekend to prepare for the Quicksilver 50 mile on May 12th. After Quicksilver, I'll be taking a break from hills (& maybe races) to focus on running flat...for a long time...repetitively. Of course this should have started back in February, but who can go back and change time...No really, can someone do that? I have a few things that need changed... ;)

Good luck to all of you that are doing the Diablo 50 mile or marathon. Looks like it may be pretty hot out there!

Happy Trails!

American River 50 Mile

Finish: 11:16:xx.
Goal: 10:59:59

Was not the best day I've had in my life, but even after a few days of rest, I've already signed up for the Quicksilver 50 Miler on May 12th. I guess I didn't have that bad of a time!

More details to come (though I still owe some storytelling on RA 50k!) To quickly summarize, the week leading up to the race I spent most evenings after work packing and moving to our new place and managed to get a cold. The weather the day before was a beautiful 70 degree sunny day...the day of RAIN, COLD, WIND. And I found out that I didn't know how to run on muddy trails!

I have a few concerts coming up and that seems to be taking most of my time right now. I'm also battling another case of poison oak! Mostly just on my right leg and arm. Not as bad as last time, and I'm working on getting rid of it as fast as I can!

The next few weeks will be training on hills to get those muscles use to going up steep hills again!

Yep...I can still do a 50k!

Wow! I did it! I didn't know if I could pull it off, but I did. 5:40:11. A new PR! Ok...this is a much easier course than Skyline, but my training wasn't anything close to what I had going into Skyline!

I'll write more about the race tonight or tomorrow, I just wanted to let everyone know that I made it! My right leg is a little sore, but not too bad. I spent most of yesterday moving!

(Thanks for the picture Mimi!)

More later!
